CPL/IR licence issue at Gatwick?

Hi,Heard that you can get the CPL/IR issued while you wait at Gatwick.Is this true and has anyone done it recently?Obviously phoning to check!Thanks.

Call to check but I'm fairly sure that they won't issue licences over the counter. They will add ratings but not issue a new licence, of any description. -veROC

They will accept application in person but the licence is mailed to you. I put my CPL/Ir application in recently as my PPL was CAA not JAA so they needed to see either my original birth certificate or passport (neither of which I was happy to leave there) and got everything back 10 days later.
