Time limit for JAA-PPL (A) flying?

Hi all, I was just wondering if there is a time limit in which the 45 hours for the above licence must be completed. I know about the 18 months for the written exams, but arent sure about flying time.

Thanks in advance for your help

No. The longest I know of personally is 5 years. Any advances on 5 years?

A friend did it over 3/4 years with a huge gap in the middle with no flying at all. First trip with shiny new PPL and first passenger he panicked on landing, tried a go-around to low too slow and ended up spinning a C152 in. Both walked away with cuts and bruises thankfully. I know I'm not really helping, but just wanted to point out that at the low hour end of PPL flying, taking too long can never be a good thing. I'll shut up now.
