Aeros Gloucester

Hi all
Any new F/Os out there (or anyone else getting paid to fly) who trained with Aeros? What were the comments about the FTO from interviewers?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Was your employer suitably impressed with HGFC, BBJD?

Did all my training there, no problems what so ever, I have just completed a sim assessment for a major UK carrier, this carrier likes Aeros students because the quality of training is fantastic, their FTP rates speaks for themselves.
People will have bad experiences at any training organisation, but be careful not to get sucked into the "we fly nice glass cockpit aircraft so come to us", who cares? the bottom line is you should choose your training provider based on their ability to train you to do the job, the equipment they use is pretty irrelevant, I gained an IR FTP on an analogue Seneca, as have hundreds of people.

PM me if you want some positive info on Aeros.

Dean

I also did all my commercial training and the majority of my hour building with Aeros. Absolutely no complaints. Reliable Fleet, On site maintenance etc. The school's reputation speaks for itself i think. I found out about them by word of mouth, rather than dredging through what many may regard as utter tosh on pprune. Im unsure of the validity of one of the above posts, as during my fairly long term involvement with the school i cannot think of a single occasion someone left early in training for anything other than personal reasons. These would occur no matter where you trained. All the plus points of Aeros aside (They do have a very attrative tie up with flybe remember) I would recommend you visit the school if you can. There are only a handful of people who have experience of doing the same training course at one school, so seeing it for yourself would serve much better!
As for the instructors leaving (and it's only a couple!) well bear in mind most of them had a schools recommendation to flybe! Take a look around and you will find instructors being picked off by the airlines left right and centre all over the country.

Pop in and see them, give them a go, thats what i did!

The search function is your best friend as well, if you search for Aeros on here you will see a shed load of posts about how good they are.
I say it as I see it, I recently undertook my CPL/IR here, and i have been around Aeros for sometime before, I know everyone who comes through the CPL/IR courses because that's how it is at Aeros, and I know of nobody dropping out in the last year to go somewhere else because they were unhappy, so I would take bigjetdriver's posts with a pinch of salt unless he can validate the claim he is making. Aeros have an achievements board up of everyone who have passed their CPL/IR courses, and everyone's name up there in the last year that I know of have completed the course and I know them personally.

again PM me for a straight down the line chat about them, if you want my phone number I am happy to speak over the phone.
