FAA ME/IR private or commercial conversion?
Just wanted to verify with somebody who knows off the top of their head.
I am completing my FAA Multi-engine private license with instrument priveldge at the moment with a view to completing an instrument conversion in the UK. I have been reliably told by the school that there is no requirement to arrive with an FAA commercial ME/IR and that a private is fine. Just wanted to double check this with somebody whom has already succesfully done it?

As I understand it, whatever licences/ratings you hold in FAA-land will be converted to the equivalent JAA licences after the conversion training. A ME/IR can be held on a JAA PPL.
