Question Is recruitment up?

Hi all,
I did the fATPL a few years ago now, spent about a year not getting a job before taking a great job running a yacht for a bit. I'm still keen to get back into flying, and am still solvent - any recomendations re spending my money on a rating and if so which one I'm guessing 737?? or would I be better doing the traditional flight instructors route and keeping my ear to the ground. My hours came from bush flying in Zim back before Uncle Bob went completely doolally - I then did the UK CPL etc. Obviously I'll need to do some flying to get current anyway. I'm 46 too so not a spring chicken however don't believe that that is a serious impediment.
Cheers.
