November Pilot magazine, Pg 66

On page 66 the article about becoming a pro pilot talks about gaining an ATPL with 195hrs flight time, and in another part says to 'upgrade from CPL-IR to ATPL it would be necessary to complete MCC and CRM courses'.

I'd like to point out that an ATPL requires 1500 flying hours inlcuding 500 multi crew hours so there's no way you can get an ATPL without a job.

The unofficial term for CPL-IR with MCC qualifactions (which is what you get from integrated or modualr trainng) is a Frozen ATPL, ie you meet the theoretical requirements for an ATPL but lack the experience.

Just thought this might help.

Another thing that might help...throw the magazine in the bin! All the "professional pilot" articles are bias, bull**** or just wrong.
