FAA IR Blues
Hi, I dont think there is such a thing as a JAA CFII, but I know what you meant! If you need an IPC then I think you will need to find an FAA CFII, there are some in the UK.
I believe that you can do the criteria for keeping your FAA IR current on a 'G' reg, as long as it's in the same category of aircraft and you log the information required in your book, ie... 6 instrument approaches, holding procedures, intercepting and tracking courses etc.
But I stand by to be corrected! 'Chilli monster' seems to be the oracle of knowledge regarding the FAA!

Bultaco,
If you have done 6 approaches within last 6 months - you are current.
If not but its less <6 months then you are do 6 approaches on your own duirng normal course of your flying.
If you are 6-12 months since last 6 then you need to do 6 with a safety pilot.
If you are 12+ months then you need an IPC with an FAA Instructor.
Julian.
