SA PPL

I'm leaning towards doing my PPL in South Africa at the moment, I've read a few threads about doing this but still aren't entirely sure it's the right thing to do - can someone advise me on the following:

- What implications does having an SA PPL have when I then move on to my CPL elsewhere - will I need to "convert" it and if so what will that cost me.

- Will not having a CAA PPL in any way inconvenience/disadvantage me down the line.

Sorry if these are silly questions, clearly I'm new to all this and the PPL is a big initial wedge of cash that I don't want to spend without being fully aware of all the options.

thanks
