Grant of RTOL

Is it free of charge to get a seperate UK Radio Telephony Operator's Licence issued if you can provide the CAA with a medical?

If you do get a seperate RTOL issued and then get a pilot's licence issued, will you have to carry both or will the RTOL details be printed in the pilot's licence?

Not quite - the UK FRTOL (Flight Radio Tel...) is issued free of charge to anyone with a UK CAA PIlots Licence (not medical) - or, depending on interpretation, to a student pilot who is undergoing a course of flight training carried out under the watchful eye of the UK CAA.

Anyone who requires a FRTOL but does not/will not hold a UK CAA pilot licence will have to pay for the issue - currently GB£63.
