Were YOU at LHR training show last month?

Did you go to the Flight Training Expo at Heathrow last month?
If so has it helped you make your mind up on on a school?
Where have you decided to go and why?

Reason I ask is that I went and found it useful but only found one school that appealed to me more than the rest and just wondered why you chose the school you did, etc.

Think I've pretty much decided on the PTC/MFC collaboration doing 50hrs (CPL, 1/2 IR) out in Moncton, NB then the last 25hrs (1/2 IR) back at Bournemouth here in the UK. Reasons: Cheap, MFC is Canadian govt funded, est 70 yrs ago, great pass rates, good experience, JAA approved w/ resident CAA examiners.

Just making sure I made the right decision for the right reasons, etc.

Thanks for your time.

Trislander, ask yourself: Why did that particular school appeal more to you than the others?

Add up all the factors when comparing FTOs - including quality of training, aircraft and facilities, experience and track record.

Speak to a school representative. Are you just talking to a marketeer who tries to get you to sign up, or are they honest, and do they know what they are talking about?

Is the school's pricing structure transparent?

If one FTO comes out above the others, why would you go to a different one?

Picking an FTO should be a very rational decision, and if you have the data in front of you, selecting the right one is fairly straightforward. The same FTO is not right for everybody. Some people - sadly - want the cheapest training possible, others want quality. Make up your own mind.
