CPL in US under new IAA/CAA agreement

Hi all,

Since the new IAA/CAA reciprocal agreement, can I, after having done my ATPLs in Ireland, do my CPL in an JAA FTO in the US, run by an English school. For example the place OAT would send their students? Are the prices on that basis prohibitive and equivalent to UK Sterling prices? I want to do 50hrs P1, my multi engine rating and a night rating ( if I haven't done night rating before then) in May2006. Then I thought, since now I could do my CPL training in the UK, why could I not do it in the US, the way British students do, through an English school.
With the examiners on the base usually, it may be done a lot quicker than here....? Even if I were to do my hour build and ME rating at US Dollar rates and then moved to an "English" school just to do my CPL, I could get the lot done in 5/6 weeks maybe, come back to Ireland, do my multi/IR, MCC and hey presto, yet another new ready to go applicant on the scene!

Have any Irish pilots looked at this possibility in the light of the new agreement?
Any thoughts and comments.............
PM

As long as you're attending a CAA-approved school in the US (or any other country for that matter), don't see any problem with what you're suggesting.

Thanks Conor_Mc
I was wondering if anyone had done it already, but it would be best to contact the IAA and get absolute confirmation ..............just in case.
Cheers
