Do African Sponsorships exist??

I am trying to find information about foreign/international sponsorships available to UK citizens in non-EU countries..i.e. U.S., South Africa and the rest of Africa for example. I've heard several rumours of their existence but i do not know for sure.

To this end, is there anybody out there in the know who would be able to part with his or her wisdom?? It would without doubt be more than appreciated!

Otherwise, i would appreciate any info on the best way to train (to ATP) level in Africa/S.Africa. I have heard a lot about the good quality of training now available in S.Africa and am keen to train there as i cannot obtain a CAA Class 1 Med. As it is for most people, money is virtually non existant in my account but I am not fussy about the type of commercial flying i do, at this stage i would just be happy flying at all!

Any pointers?!

Thanks in advance

Oli
