UK CPL/IR to JAR CPL/IR

I took the UK ATPL exams in 1998 including the old Perf E paper and got issued with a UK CPL to which I've added the IR. Regrettably I never got round to doing Perf A.

I have in excess of 2000 hours and now want to think about getting a Citation or similar on my licence.

My reading of LASORS would appear to suggest that the most sensible course of action would be to convert my UK CPL/IR to a JAR CPL/IR, complete an MCC course and then do a type rating. Furthermore there does not seem to be any requirement to complete the JAR performance exam.

Have I got this about right? Anyone got any other suggestions?

Thanks
