Intrument Rating Renewal Query
My instrument rating expires in November of this year. I am due to start an airbus type-rating in Nobember also.
Does anyone know if I need to renew my instrument rating in order to do the type. My current instrument rating is single pilot as it was my initial and I will be given a multi-pilot one after the type as I understand it?
Any help appreciated

Don't fret old chap,
Before you start your first MPA type rating, you must have held a valid multi IR within 5 years of the expiry of the said rating.
So, you have 5 years from november to get your first type rating.
Once you pass your type rating LST, you will be issued a MPA IR based on the type of aircraft you did your LST on. A little quirk is that you are allowed to exercise the IMC rating privilidges if your MPA IR is valid. Check lasors for more details.

I was under the impression that you need a valid ME iR to be issued a MPA TR.
I just can't find the link where I read this. Are you sure Gus? If so, can I spend the £1000 I have put aside for I am in a similar position to VariPitch.
