Question Licensing Help - Need some feedback!!

Hello there,

I know anyone can help...

I was thinking to go through a Modular route up to a fATPL since I cannot afford an integrated route. I need to clarify some things...

I want to do a JAA approved training since I want to use it in Europe.
The first step is to get a Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) issued to ICAO standards before doing the JAA ATPL Ground Exams. And I was in mind to do an FAA PPL/IR in the States since it is much more cheaper and I can do it more faster.
Is it possible? Can anyone tell me, who did it, how much it took you to complete?

Once I finish the FAA PPL/IR I can do some hour building with it while at the States after I go for the ATPL Ground Exams probably DL.

Is the hour building done at the States under the FAA PPL/IR appropriate to continue to do the JAA ATPL written exams since 150 hours are needed to continue the JAA CPL?

Thanks for your attention and I look forward to recive a feedback...

Regards
