MCC Cost Update
Either my memory is faulty, or else the laws of supply and demand are alive and well... It was my impression that MCC courses were about £2000, maybe a little more if you wanted a moving sweatbox instead of a standing still one.
Done a bit of research anyway - costs seem to me to have increased quite a bit in the last 12 months. Thought it may be useful to share my findings.
Feel free to chip in with any other courses so we can get a picture of the market...
Jetlinx - 757/ Bus - £3400
EPTA - Tristar - £2579
MCT - Tristar - £2702
OAT - 737 - £2795
London Metro University - Kingair static - £2200
Multiflight - Kingair? - £2291 (1950+vat)
Flightcentre - Cheyenne Static - £1950

Completed mine at Atlantic Flight Training (Kingair - static). I seem to recall the price was £1995 and thoroughly recommend it. Matt gave me and my training partner a small discount because we booked the course together.

KingAir Static MCC for 2100 EUR is good enough. You DO NOT need the expensive A320 o. B737, it's waste of money.
Just because something is good enough, doesn't mean that it's the best option. I certainly cannot accept that doing your MCC on an A320 or similar full motion simulator is a waste of money.
I believe the Jetlinx MCC was worth every penny.

Rightho. Maybe I should have made it clear at the top of this thread - can we try not to go over the really well-trodden ground of whether a moving box is better than a standing still one please?
There are separate active threads on that topic (see SW's link) - this one was intended just to show the range of offers in the market so that we can all make our own choices. If some want to pay £1900 for a Kingair sim and others want to pay £3400 for a singing and dancing A320, that's OK - I'd like everyone to be aware of the range of courses and costs, wherever they're shopping in this market...
That said, we have quite a lot of info on the expensive end of the market - anyone have any more offers they know of in the lower end?

Why pay £3000 - £4000 for MCC in a full motion sim?
MCC is a non-handling course.
If you want to brush up those big jet skills surley it is better to spend £1995 on the MCC and spend the £2000 you saved on a jet orientation course like the one at BCFT.
That way you get far more sim time and also proper practical hands on flying instruction that will help improve your performance in a sim check.

Thanks for the comment C101, however as I said previously, I don't want this thread to turn into that debate yet again.
I believe in a free market where people can choose from a range of offers at different prices and levels of sophistication. It's important that if you want to make the right choice - for you - that you understand what your choices actually are, e.g. that if you want to do a course in a Tristar, the same one can be had at different prices (which should cause you to delve further into the reason for the differences...)

I recall reading an ad in Flight (a while ago) about the MCC course at Flight Safety at Le Bourget in Paris on a full motion EMB-120 Brasilia sim for 4,000 Euro - that's about £2,500.
And the HS125-800 EFIS MCC course at Flight Training Europe in Jerez is advertised at the same price but including 3 weeks accommodation & full board - looks like a good deal!
