IR Renewal - after five years?

I believe it has to be done with CAAFU, but does it differ (in format or standard) from an IR renewal completed before the five year limit?

Does the five year limit apply from the last renewal test date, or the expiry date of last validity period?

Rgds,

NC.

The 5 years is taken from the expiry date of your last validity period (ie 6 years from last prof check).

If between 5 and 7 years from expiry the format of renewal should be the same (prof check not a skill test), only difference being as you said it is with a CAA Staff Flight Examiner. As a result can be slightly more formal/thorough.

If expiry is greater than 7 years you will have to take a full skill test as per original isuue.
