Probably not your best bet. Dublin is not very GA friendly. Weston is located in the south west of the city and is where most of the Dublin area training takes place.

Hi
There are still a few surviving clubs at the airport.
http://www.dublinflyers.com/
http://www.airportflyingclub.com/
They seem to get plenty of flying done, I live very close to the airport and there Cessnas and Pipers go right over my house.
If you're interested in Weston, it's very expensive. Especially the National Flight Centre. I don't even think they'll rent you an airplane.
The cheapest club at Weston and probably cheapest in Ireland is the Leinster Flying Club, http://www.airportflyingclub.com/.
They've got a 4 year old Robin HR200, very very nice little aircraft and the price if 80 EUROS an hour. You won't beat that anywhere.
If you're looking for training at Weston look up Adrian from FlightWise, great bunch of guys who are always more interested in training you than fleecing you.
Best of luck,

What are you talking about too_sleepy????????
NFC will rent you C-152/katana/grob for 110euro/hr and then the 172/cub for 130/hr and of course they rent them out.
The airport flying club operate 2 172 at 115euro per hr but you have the additional 500euro yearly fee. Both places are fine to fly from its just your own personal preference. And the last time I checked the Leinster flying club operate a C-152 not a robin but that may have changed. The leinster club anf the airport club and the dublin flyers and flightwise all require the yearly fee of 400 to 600 euro varying and a resonable price, these are mainly clubs so therefore the membership fee. NFC is primarily a training organisation but they have plenty of aircraft to choose from.
I aint bias for any as I have flown with nearly all these places.

Chill FLYbyWIT .
So NFC will rent you an aircraft, great. This wasn't the case before Xmas when a friend from the states tried to rent one so I mentioned in my post 'I don't even think they'll rent you an airplane.'
The Leinster Club now fly a Robin HR200 G-BYLG. There is a yearly fee, 400 I think. Surely the hourly rate of 80 Euros makes up for this.
I was just answering the guys question, from my experience (or my friends) there used to be difficulty renting from NFC. I listed a few clubs at the airport, why does this get to you so much, it was what the guy was asking for.
I didn't recommend Flightwise for renting an aircraft, as far as I know they only rent to students or past students. This isn't a club, although it does have a nice club atmosphere. They're great instructors and since I had experience with them I thought I'd mention them.
That's what it's all about, Pprune that is. It's opinions, no need to loose the head boy.
:-)

None of it gets to me, I wasnt attacking you in any way nor was I unchilled and if I came across as such I apologise. Like I said I have flown with nearly all these places and all are good but for different reasons and I found the EIDW clubs great fun and if anyone wants more info feel free to PM me. I find it hard to believe NFC would not rent aircraft to your mate condsidering they have been renting since I first flew with them in 93, It must have been an isolated incident with your mate, Was there a license issue FAA/JAA or was he not willing to do the required few hrs checkout?
(If you're interested in Weston, it's very expensive. Especially the National Flight Centre. I don't even think they'll rent you an airplane.) There aint that much between them!
Not to harsh this time was I ? Shall I take an anger management course or just kick the **** outta the dog for a min.
