Talking Learn To Fly in Chester

Has anyone had any experience with Learn To Fly in Chester? I am looking for a suitable school around the greater manchester area for taking my PPL. With reasonable prices and the possibility to take the night rating.

Also, has anyone any advice on the night rating. I am told by one school that i can only do the night rating after the PPL(which i believe to be false), is it wise to try and take the night rating whilst training for the PPL?

Thanks all

Matthew

Ok Matt - I presume you are new to prune, in which case welcome aboard

Watch out for duplicate posting, as you appear to have done here. The other thread will be deleted so dont worry.

<<edit: Yep.>>

With regards to the night rating, this is an ADD-ON to your Private pilot's license, it is not something which you can achieve until you have completed your PPL. By all means, you are welcome to ask your instructor for a night flight to see what it's like, but this is probably pointless as it will cost you extra. I suggest you take on a trial flight (if you already have not done so) this will even count towards your PPL and is part of the syllabus.

<<edit: Actually, the night "rating" is now known as a night QUALIFICATION (there IS a difference) and it MAY be flown as part of the PPL training - you don't, necessarily, have to get the PPL before you start night training.>>

As for recomending a school, well, personally, I train at Liverpool Flying School and I love it there. I havent enough experience of other airfields yet to make a decent suggestion but I am sure they will follow.

Best of luck,

Maz
