Marking of ATPL exams?

Some JAA countries mark the exams on the principle that all questions are worth the same. E.g., 9 out of 10 correct answers always equals 90%.

As I understand it, the UK CAA have a system where some questions count more than others. Providing the composition of questions are the same, how does this system affect subjects like meteorology and AGK instrumentation? Is this to your benefit or disadvantage if you're strong reading metar/taf but not that good on the more academical side of the subject?

Well its true that some Quest. counts alot more then others...
Take f.eks. Mass & Balance...
20 Questions or so the first 17 Very Easy and only 1 point and then the last 3 Some times Very Hard, and worth 3-5 points each.
So if you fail a 1 point quest. and one 5 point quest you are Fxxxxxx.
Well in my eyes Stupid, ok i passed but it is the same with the rest of the subjects.
I dont like the system and find it Unfair, but the world is not Perfect.

If you wanner take a look at some exam quest. samples from the Actual Jaa Atpl exam...you might wanner take a look at the following pages.

Both is free but one req. Free Membership.
