Pilot Ground Training open day

Hello everyone

I am still sat on the fence regarding training with the whole integrated and modular thing. No rush for me so happy to take my time with the decision and get it right, also watching the progress of Oxfords recent APP students through course APP227's website under the jobs link.

Out of Interest is anyone going to the open day for Pilot Ground Training this Saturday. I see they now have a Staff Page and prices page

Wondered if anyone else is popping up ?

loopy.

Apparently Pilot Ground Training is made up of the Oxford Ground Instructors so I would expect the training to be of a high standard.

I was just in there today visiting BCT Training on another matter.

PGT is in the same building and to my surprise I met up with no less than five of my former ATPL groundschool instructors from Oxford.

Apart from the shock of seeing them with their clothes on (Civvies I mean), it was good to have a chat with them and discover that what I would regard as a large chunk of the "core" team of the Oxford groundschool have stuck together and moved to the new company at Kemble.

I can honestly say the best part of Oxford was their groundschool and these guys are truly outstanding. I've mentioned this before in PPRUNE September 2003, so I'm not making it up. See HERE. Rather too verbose in retrospect so here are the extracts:

As a former modular student at OAT, I would recommend the ATPL groundschool without reservation. The courses are superb and the quality of instruction beyond reproach.

However....
The MAIN advantage of the modular route is that you can "cherry pick" the best providers for each phase of your training and generally do it cheaper and to suit your own timescale. Frankly I cannot recommend Oxford for anything other than the full-time ATPL groundschool. This element I would strongly recommend.
I would certainly think it worthwhile to pay PGT a visit given the quality of their staff!
