PPL in cornwall...any thoughts?

Hello,

I have recently moved to Cornwall and would very much like to do my PPL down here (on weekends). I have been looking for any flying clubs or schools in the Southwest and understandably they are few and far between.

I have found a flying school at PERRANPORTH which is certainly close to me but I'm not sure about the quality I can expect from the Instructors and is the Cessna 172 an ideal aircraft to learn on?

Any first hand experience of the airfield, club and a/c type would be greatly recieved as I move closer to choosing a club.

And any recommendations for other flying clubs in that region would be great too.

Thanks a lot.

Ed.
