Available Simulators
Hi guys and girls,
I am keen to know if any of you have used SIM's to keep IR Skills current or to prepare for forthcoming airline SIM checks etc.
I know about the Trident SIM at Biggin. Heard that it is temp. out of action. I got the telephone number of the operator (Mr Andy Mattacks I believe) off the web site but have left a couple of messages and heard nothing. Anybody know if he is the guy to contact? How to book etc etc?
Also, has anybody used the sims down at Bournemouth? B727, BAC1-11, L1011? Any other economically priced sims around?
Thanks for any help,

I have used the L1011 and the 727 sim at bournemouth.
I would recommend 727, the L1011 is a bit too easy to fly. Not really what you want to practice for a sim check.
I used MCT for my training was Very good. Nice bloke.
Moku.

Yes Andy Mattocks is the right guy to contact but he is sometimes away so you need to keep on trying.
I hope he gets that sim going again as it is great fun and an enormous confidence builder. The hardest thing though, is finding the place to start with!!
Hope you manage to contact him in the end

lookoutbelow - in case you need to practice a forthcoming TP sim profile, I'd recommend the King Air 200 FNPT II at Atlantic @ EGBE - it's good fun, decently priced at £70/hr (if you turn up with a mate), with very experienced instructors and good availability - unless of course there is an MCC course going on or I am practicing...

For anyone that is interested, I have spoken to Andy Mattocks at Biggin. He said that the Trident Sim will be down for the next few weeks at least. Shame.
Moku, how much did MCT at Bournemouth charge you for the B727 SIM with an instructor?

V1Rotate - not sure about the UK but UK approved FNPT2 at Flight Training Europe, Jerez.
Bear in mind that it is only approved as an FNPT2 MCC (not 125-800) but it is a whole lot better than a basic FNPT2 as it used to be approved as a full flight sim by the CAA.
