Hello

I have a resident visa in brasil and thinking of going to the US to do full jaa/faa course, can any one tell witch licence is in brazil?
Wich course should i do?

Interesting question!

At present, Brazil is neither JAA nor FAA but is, along with Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and a few other South American states, close to joining the JAA. Many Middle East states, along with Australia and New Zealand are also considering the advantages of joining the JAA.

This raises the alarming (to the USA) possibility of aviation regulation becoming a two-way split split between the FAA and the Rest of the World.

I think that you will find that Brazil have their own regulatory body, but due to the vast number of N-reg aircraft that having both would be required.

I thought that Oz had given up on the JAA system at least with airspace? And were looking at aligining their airspace with the FAA system.

That's right. Brazil has it's own regulations, based on ICAO annexes and recommendations, of course. If you're intending to do a JAA/FAA course or you already have one, you will need to do all the tests and check flights again to validate your license here in Brazil.
