Light Twin IRs not required for co-pilots

DEDICATED CO PILOT LICENCES

GA and Airline Licence separation...

ICAO have announced that in 2006 one will only need 80 hours
in a GA single before stepping into a airline simulator

The rest of the training including IR will be done on the simulator

The reason for this is the declining cost of simulators and the rising cost of GA and the technology divide

At £6.00 per minute on the ME-IR course I can see what they
mean

The IR will be done on the airline Sim

The article is in Flight International - Page 5

One supposes that JAA will follow the ICAO lead?

Lots of very interesting and important ramifications to this.
