Post Right Seat First Officer????

Hi there,

I was hoping you guys can help me out on this issue.

Am I right in thinking that when you have accomplished the FAA CPL IFR MULTI exams, you are able to sit in the right seat of an A/C without having a type rating????

Thanks a lot

In the UK i think i am correct in saying that for any aircraft requiring more than one crewmember then both pilots must be rated in that type. I know for example that RHS regional jet pilots in US dont require type ratings.

Check out §61.55. It states the required qualifications for an SIC. Basically, yeah, you can, but you need type-specific training (3 t/os and ldgs etc).
