Angel Out of the loop for a bit

Hullo all!

It has been a long, long time since I visited these forums!
As such, I am completely out of touch with everything "flying."
A new job meant that I put the PPL on the back-burner for a while whilst I concentrated on the job. But my interest has been renewed!!!

Is there any kind soul out there who would be kind enough to give me a brief resume of what has occurred as regards flight training??

Any new schools entered the market who have made an impact?
How is the job market for those at the bottom of the food chain?
Any large, regional or cargo operators indicated they might take low hours people?
Has the pool, made up of those experienced pilots who found themselves out of work in the few years after Sept. 11th, dispersed?

I would be very grateful. I am not expecting masses of information, but a brief insight would be great just to get me back in the frame.

Thanking you all for looking.
