I know this has probably been done to death a hundred times already, so please forgive me, but what is the maximaum age that anyone has been successful at landing a flighdeck job after paying for their licences etc? I have heard of people putting themselves through it at 40+, but how about 45?

What would you say is a realistic time to stop dreaming about it and start planning your pension?

There's a "rotorheads" regular who is now working part time as a helicopter instructor, who had their first lesson at 47.

Well I'm currently 38 so am wondering the same thing... Any chance of a career change at this age? The BA captains have to retire at 55 anyway!!!

Though that's changing to 60, T's & P's. That gives you 22 years. Loads of time!
