Rolls Royce - The Jet Engine

Does anyone own a copy of this book?

Is it worth buying for my ATPL aircraft gen knowledge exam.

Many thanks.

Yes - I was fortunate to be given a copy in the late 70s.

It contains everything you are ever likely to want to know about jet engines, helped me through my CAA engines exam and I still refer to it occassionally. Clear text and great colour pictures.

I don't know its current price so whether it's worth buying for A/C Gen is a mute point. If your course material is 'light weight' then yes, but I should like to think only buy as a back-up.

RR are selling the book for £25 which is a bargain IMHO.

A customer of the bank I worked for was a RR engineer and knew of my interest. Those where the days!

£25 considering the quality as good value.

I found it invaluable during my ATPL studies, the diagrams are fantastic.

Well worth the £25

An excellent book. Very in-depth, but idiot proof!! Given to BA Engineers when they start their apprenticeships. As said before, great back up book and excellent to top up ATPL studies.
