Conversion of Canadaian CPL to Australian Equivalent

I have a canadian cpl and am looking to convert it to the australian equivalent. Am looking to find out how and where best to do the conversion? Once converted intend to look for my first flying job there (not before throwing bags for six months though!) so if one of you could help me or guide me in the right direction I would be very grateful and then also on the jobs front on how the whole general aviation industry is in aus at the moment.
