Ah, Gareth - your e-mail service rejected my replies to you.

Have a look at The Ft Pierce Tribune for details of life and living in Ft. Pierce.

The paper is a sister of the Vero Beach Press Journal (you'll find a link on the Tribune pages).

All the small adds are there for you to look for rental property - or even buy a house (which you could rent out or sell on later).

Petrol, today - $1.53 a gallon (about 90 pence in UK money)
Our electricity bill - about £100 per month (including air conditioning for the summer and swimming pool heating for the winter).
Loaf of bread - between 60 pence and £2.

Swings and roundabouts.

Open Internet Explorer and do a search on Ft. Pierce and/or Vero Beach.

You'll need a driving licence and a bank account.

Driving test is farsical - but there is an interesting, 40 question, mutli choice, written exam which WILL need studying for - so read the drivers manual

You have my e-mail address - try again if you have more questions.

Hi Gareth.

I am going to EFT in the new year. I have booked to stay the first three months in the Road Runner Travel resort, in a one bedroom rental villa. ROAD RUNNER

It is a little bit on the expensive side, but is RIGHT beside the airport, within easy walking distance. After I come home to do the exams, I will hopefully be staying in a rented apartment, (probably not EFT's accommodation). I am saving like mad at the moment to get some money for a car and a few thousand for gas for a year. (Until the paid instructor job comes along).

I have been told that public transport is non exsitant in FP, so getting from place to place is difficult because everything is so spaced out in Florida. (Hence why ive decided to stay as close to the airport as possible in my poorer first three months, and why im saving so hard to be able to buy a car and fuel).

I am looking forward to going to EFT, what a great bunch they seem. E-mail me if you need to talk about anything.

Cheers

Paul
