Instruments Problem: Control Wheel Steering Problem
Control Wheel Steering is used by the pilot, in a roll the pilot releases the control what happens?
(1) Does it maintain the roll angle
(2) Does the aeroplane roll out automatically on the heading the pilot let go of the wheel
(3) Does the aeroplane eventually roll out on some arbitary angle after the wheel was let go due to the aircrafts natural stabilisation characteristics.
I'd go for option 1, but 3 seems to be possible too.
Any suggestions?

It rather depends upon aircraft type. But if this is a JAR ATPL exam question the answer is most likley to be:
It will roll level if the aircraft is within 6 degrees of level when pressure is released, but it will maintain the current bank angle if this is greater than 6 degrees.
