DC-8 FE type rating
Hello,
Does anybody know a training company doing dc-8 type rating for flight engineers ? I tried aeroservice in FL but they only give FE type ratings to cpl/ir holders.
Thanks in advance for your answers,
OLIGOE

FE rating
To get a FAA FE type rating you have to hold a CPL or an A & P.
But is it worth it ? I think that a DC-8 rating would be about as much use as my Electra FE rating !

Yes, I know, but I hold a JAR 66 B1 and B2, means I have a mechanics licence equivalent to an A&P + an avionics electrician licence.
Many DC-8 are still flying everywhere around the world, and I am sure the 70's series will still be flying for many years to come. I know my chances to get a FE job are near 0%, but I still have hope, this is what keeps me happy.
Anyway I hold a PPL and will start one day an ATPL....but if only I could fly some years as an FE.
Thanks for your answer,
