BBC News - Airliner scrapyard plans go ahead at Llanbedr Airfield

vee-tail-1 15th August 2012 16:38

This is great news and a win win for everyone ... Local jobs, & engineering training for youngsters, who don't then have to leave their home area.
A really useful, profitable and ecological recycling enterprise.
But let's hope the 'forces of darkness' don't have another agenda to scupper it at the last moment :ugh:

Wonder how this will affect what can be a very busy piece of LFA7 for the military?
The estuary at Barmouth to the south is a major entry/exit point for low level fast jets .

Don't think it will make any significant difference. The 'retirement' traffic will only happen on certain days and is tiny compared with the number of GA movements up and down that part of the coast.

Fabulous scenery including, mountain, coast, estuary, and sailing, wind & kite surfing, hill walking, wildlife in abundance, and flying. What a great place for a successful flyers village?
