Has anyone flown a light aircraft from the UK to Australia or vice versa or planning to do so or know someone who has?

Quite a few are doing it at the moment!!

Yeah, a mate of mine did in his own Cherokee in 1985. I think the best way to contact him is via the School of Biological Sciences, Macquarie University, NSW, Australia. An article about his adventures around Oz has appeared in Australian Geographic as well. I can't remember the issue. From memory I think he used Lockeed planning or Jepps. Thanks for replies. UK to Aus is a dream of mine. Im PPL with about 100 hours only. So obviously need a few more hours, and much more cash! But am dreaming and still flying. I would welcome any discussion on the topic from interested parties. I watched the race recently with envy.

Oops just got hit with flood control, will be waiting my mandatory 270 seconds. Sort of like doing a right hand orbit for separation purposes in the circuit wouldnt you say?
