They come in red, but you need to attach your own " remove before flight / put on before fun " flag on them.
Don't they teach you guys anything useful in school? |
As Rod said, most Luscombes have them, however this one appears to be wrong for the pitot.
Luscombes have a pitot that is made from a piece of simple aluminium tube which comes out of the leading edge, bends down and then forward so the opening is below and forward of the LE. The pitot in the pic is much fatter and the cover is not designed to fit it as can be seen by the fact that the fixing clip has been opened out and secured by safety wire rather than the manufacturer supplied pinch bolt. If something's not being used in the way intended by the designer it's a fair bet it won't work properly. By the look of it it's the one intended for a 1/4 inch tube being used on something much fatter. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...s/10-02000.jpg Apropos of the suggestions of replacing it with a "remove before flight" jobby, it's a matter of balancing the risk of something automatic not working against the risk of the PIC failing to remove it on pre-flight and replace it after flight innit? |
