Online Logbook
Hi,
I'm using the zululog.com logbook as a backup for my paper one. I read in the FARs that comments, CFI signature & number are required for every dual received. Since i'm manually transfering the entries from my paper logbook to zululog.com I obviously can't transfer the CFI sig (I could transfer the comments, but that would be a horrible work since the CFI comments are sometimes unreadable and it'd be a lot to decypher). Again, that zululog.com thing is only my backup in case I should every loose my paper logbook. Would the FAA accept it? Regards David |
No, not if its not signed.
What you could do, for archiving and backup purposes, is each time you finish a page in your logbook, photocopy it. Keep all the photocopies in a safe place, physically removed from your logbook. The online/excel logbooks are fantastic for many reasons, but they cant keep signatures (or ratings, endorsements or flight reviews). |
So if I print it out and sign it, the FAA would accept it? Or do you mean the original CFI signatures?
Good idea with the photocopies. |
