Several thank yous: Kolibear for the ticket, Eveepee for the driving, and Vintage ATCO for the homework and the tour. :ok:
Ooh, and FNG, for being there so I could finally say hello. :D
And everyone else, for a top day out. :)

A couple of quick photos...
The quality of the originals is somewhat better! :O

Hi all,

We got back to Belfast again.

It was a great day for the flight and it was good to meet some of you.

Tony

it was good to meet some of you
And a real shame you had to meet some of the others?
;)
Glad you could make it, and returned home in one piece.

Rallye Driver 22nd May 2004 22:19

Thoroughly enjoyable day in good company. Some cracking aerobatics. Oh yes, and I want a tailwheel Yak 52!

RD :ok:

FNG 23rd May 2004 14:07

Ditto all the above. Very pleasant to fly in by Rallye (not the one that carved Stik up in the circuit), with Wide Body and others. I thought that Will Curtis in the Sukhoi gave the best of the displays. Good to see Aerbabe, Eveepee, TonyR, Rallyedriver, Kolibear, and others. Alas, Stik, poor co-ordination: I am sorry that I only saw you whilst we were being jostled by those polite people in the bus queue, but your 4-ship of Pittses looked very good arriving.

I also want a tailwheel Yak 52...and a Cap 10c...and a Husky, and a Cirrus...and... and...

eveepee 23rd May 2004 15:26

Great day ! Thanks to Kolibear for the tickets even though I spent 10 minutes trying to work out how to pin it on the right way. Problem solved by Aerbabe :D. - Great photos it was worth all that squinting into the sun !
It was good to meet some "old" Ppruner friends, and some new ones too !
Not sure what I'd do with a Yak 52 but I'm sure I'd find someone who would want to fly her while I could admire the view !:D

Problem solved by Aerbabe
Yes, the cunning way I solved the problem of the safety pin/card being the wrong way round.... Instead of trying to manouevre the pin out, I just turned the card round.

FNG 24th May 2004 07:47

I saw two spotters at Aerofair who were....women. Astonishing.

PS: Aerbabe, your PM mail box is full (must be all that scary stalker-spam that Evo sends you).

Kolibear 24th May 2004 08:47

A good saturday, even it was a tad chilly all day.

Driving onto the airfield at 9:15, it was amusing to see the number of cars coming out of the site. For the last 3 weeks, it has been well signposted that there will be no market this weekend, but that didn't stop some people from coming anyway.

The spotters were impressive by their numbers and by their movements. At 9:30, there were swarming over the static park, but by 11:30, they had all migrated to the flight line to tick off the arrivals.

We had a brand new unregistered aircraft on the stand - the standard spotter question was "whats the reg of this aircraft?" Excuse me ! its not registered thats why theres no letters on it. now. so there are one or two spotters with G-KOL, G-EADS & G-PRUN in their notebooks. Interesting how they wrote down the reg & constructors number, but not the aircraft type.

Thanks to vintageATCO for letting us come up into the inner sanctum - I've always wondered what the view from the tower is like.

Good to meet TonyR and crew, WideBody, FNG (at last), Rallye Driver. Mikecross, Blue Robin, Modern Dinosaur and the two hot chicks - eveepee & Aerbabe.

We had quite a few Rally pilots come onto the PZL stand and sit in a Koliber, all of then enthused about the old 'Tin Parachute' so they must OK..

Redsnail, Checkboard and I went along on Saturday. Got accosted by a nice man on the gate who asked if we wanted to be whip guests. We thought that sounded OK and were almost disappointed to be given VIP passes.

Saw a few people I knew but unfortunately excessive hospitality courtesy of Haywards rather curtailed my usual socialising.

Was a good day though.

Aerbabe is looking a bit serious as she's just seen John the Fuel give his famous low level display on the tractor and she has to do it next year.

Mike Cross 24th May 2004 20:33

I particularly enjoyed the fine display of grasscutting given by this Flymo

Though how he got it into this position I'm not quite sure

Yes the camera is the right way up!

AerBabe 24th May 2004 22:52

Mike - You caught me just seconds after VATCO told me that Evo was the new Computers/Internet mod.

Why does it look like I have tomato sauce all over my chin? :uhoh:

Kolibear 25th May 2004 09:10

Because you'd just been tucking into a bacon sarnie. Don't deny it, we have witnesses.

She is probably looking serious as she's just heard Vatco doing his display and she has to do it next year :(
