UK AIP - AD 2-EGCC-4-1 (Manchester LLR)

For this weekend, I am planning to transit this LLR.

I have seen the various doc available, but they are all interpretations and, some of them, old. Whereas I have no real issues with the route I do like to be able to get to the bottom of (i.e the AIP entries) exactly what it is and what I can do there, and I am unable to find one of the places which should have this.

In the AIP I find 2 references to the LLR.
1. The first one is in Note 3 to ENR 1.4 ATS AIRSPACE CLASSIFICATION - 2.4 Class D - Controlled Airspace, which says that "The Low Level Route is illustrated at AD 2-EGCC-4-1."
2. EGCC AD 2.22 FLIGHT PROCEDURES - 7 SPECIAL LOW LEVEL ROUTE. This also refers to "The Low Level Route is illustrated at AD 2-EGCC-4-1."

Now, EGCC AD 2.22 FLIGHT PROCEDURES - 7 SPECIAL LOW LEVEL ROUTE gives me all the details I need for flight ... but where is this AD 2-EGCC-4-1?

(NB - this is really a question about understanding and using the UK AIP - not really specifically the Manchester LLR.)

Thanks :ok:

It's in the IAIP under Aerodrome Index - Specific. EGCC is Manchester.

You are quite right that EGCC is Manchester. And that AD 2-EGCC-4-1 would logically refer to the Aerodrome specific entry of Manchester.

In fact, one of the places I listed in my post is within that entry - EGCC AD 2.22 FLIGHT PROCEDURES - 7 SPECIAL LOW LEVEL ROUTE. That entry refers to "The Low Level Route is illustrated at AD 2-EGCC-4-1."

My question arises because the AD 2-EGCC does not have anything called 4-1 in it...

Each entry is numbered 2.1, 2.2 and so on.

Unless the version at Eurocontrol is incomplete...

You'll find it here in the UK AIP

Try this link

Or to find it on the NATS site:
NATS | AIS - Home

Then click AIP, "Aerodrame Index - Specific", then "Manchester", then "AD 2-EGCC-4-1".

Aha. So there is an inconsistency between NATS' own site and the Eurocontrol site...
Following the links as given by FREDACheck gets you to a page which shows "Charts Related to the Airport " and identifies them properly, so that you can find AD 2-EGCC-4-1, which makes sense.
However, following the links from the Eurocontrol site I linked to above, under "EGCC AD 2.24 CHARTS RELATED TO AN AERODROME" the individual charts are not given any meaningful name/identifier. I now see that AD 2-EGCC-4-1 is listed as "Figure 905"...

It's a bit strange in today's day and age to find such disparities. Also, if, from the NATS site you click on the link for "Manchester Aerodrome - Textual Data" you get sent to the Eurocontrol site and shown a different document than if you had searched through the Eurocontrol site to begin with. Truly bizarre.

I had got used to searching through the Eurocontrol site as I thought that would be the way forward in the long run... but will revert to the NATS site...

Thanks guys (& gals?!)
