Bump. 28 days to go to this year's premier aviation event. Be there or be cast into the wilderness of uncool.
|
Might be an idea to give Cafe Pacific a heads up as it's a sunday and Cranfield would otherwise be pretty quiet.
|
Is it still 19th with 26th as backup?
Please count me in provisionally, P28B from Stapleford. Scoobs, which flying machine are you taking? /h88 |

P28B
According to doc 8643 it's a Piper Dakota. Like an Archer but with too many cylinders in front. My pride won't suffer too much if you just put me down as PA28.

Evidence.
I've been following this thread with some interest and envy, Browning's (mis!)quote particularly set the scene in my mind.
A quick calculation shows that I'd go through more than 35,000 litres of fuel just to get there in my preferred chariot of the skys, so it's not likely I'll put my name forward  However I trust someone will, clandestinely or otherwise, release some photographic evidence that it all happened? That way those of constrained by distance or dollars can at least vicariously enjoy the day ;) FP. |
28 days, eat your heart out RIAT.
FP: I'm sure some kind soul and technophile will take some pics. |
Bump. And again for the ten letter limit...
|
To save me reading several pages, where should I fly to, and when for this?
|
Cranfield,apparently. Unchallenging,uninteresting concrete dump.
|
Hmm, fair enough.
Out of all of the UK's stunning airfields, I'm intrigued that it's at the aviation equivalent of South Mimms road plainings storage centre... ;) I'll plan to come along. I assume I'll need full head to toe hi-viz gear for the occasion? |
Anyone flying from Fairoaks / Blackbushe / White Waltham with a spare seat?
SD |
I may have a seat from WW .

Just a thought, PPRuNe aviators; we have 60 visiting junior glider pilots flying at Shenington that weekend, arriving from all over the UK (no, they don't fly in, they drive on the Friday, and leave at the end of Sunday, by road). Should we mention to Cranfield if they are flying an assigned task? Nearly all the juniors (aged 14 to 25 inclusive) are cross country pilots.
Shenington is 7 nautical miles NW of Banbury.... Mary Meagher PS hope you have a jolly reunion, anyhow! |
Shouldn't it be notamd anyway? Glider comps usually are.
|
Not really a Cub field but I'm in.
L4 Cub from Priory Farm Norfolk. SS |
Nice one, SS.
See you there. |
