Passed my skills test!

Taken me nearly 5 years, but finally managed to get it passed yesterday. Elated is a word I would use to describe the feeling. :E

This forum helped to keep my enthusiasm going, especially after reading Mazzy's blog & Jason's PPL book.

I've got a few weeks waiting for the turd coloured wallet to drop through he door so I'm going to carry on training & get converted to the 150/152 & some more instrument time.

many congratulations in order, where did you do it from?

Wibblemonster 9th Apr 2011 21:27

At Newcastle, Northumbria Flying School.

Rugbyears 10th Apr 2011 07:53

Who was your instructor, Becks?

Wibblemonster 10th Apr 2011 08:47

Yea, Beckie was one of them, think I've flown with all of them now, great bunch of people & would recommend the school to anyone wishing to learn to fly.

Are you training there or passed now?

kevmusic 10th Apr 2011 17:23

Well done, keep it up!! :ok:

FlyingKiwi_73 11th Apr 2011 00:17

Wow 47 hours is pretty good! the minimum in NZ is 55 :-(
I did mine in 61 Hours that includes a 2 hours night and 5 instrument (Simulated with foggles)

Whats the Min hours in UK? 45? do you have to do any instrument flying?

Morrisman1 11th Apr 2011 01:36

Min is 40 in NZ if you don't want cross country privileges but if you do then min goes up to 50 because you need 10 hours cross country time. 5 Hours instrument time is required somewhere in there. Night not required if you don't want to do it.

Speaking of night flying, now that we are back to NZST Ill be doing some soon, maybe tonight if the weather holds out.
