Going Solo..

Hi all,
So then how many hours flying did you do before you went solo?:}
Ive heard 10+ hours is about right ??

Happy Flying...:ok:

53 hours before obtaining my PPL.
Hours to solo is not that important to the end result,but regular flying tuition/practice is though.

16 hours in a UAS Bulldog, then the following year 7 hours of assorted flight test observer flying as a very young aeronautical engineer, then the third year pretty much started again and went solo after 11 hours.

So, 11 hours, 27 hours, or 34 hours depending upon how you choose to measure it!

Early flying exploits are much like early sex - one is naturally eager, but being TOO eager can easily spoil it all. And both the flying and the sex can be SO beautiful that we really shouldn't spoil those precious moments.

Jan,all depends on the instruction,I was lucky:E;):}

Genghis , I myself had 10 hours on Bulldogs but failed to solo. How did you get 16?

I was convinced, or rather my instructor was, that I couldnt fly.
I was surprised 10 years later when I soloed after 7 hours.
I wouldnt have missed the UAS for the world..happy days..
