Aviation truths

Must be some of those as well?

Like the time I rented an aircraft and instructor in a strange country, and was having trouble keeping it straight and level. I was putting this down to being used to a flat horizon in East Anglia and not being used to judging my attitude from a sloping horizon (mountain slopes).

Until the instructor said:

"Yes, this one hasn't been quite the same since the accident."

Sure: You can make a small fortune in aviation. If you start with a big one.

Another cliche:

It will not fly until the weight of the paperwork equals the weight of the aircraft.

Another one seems to have been crystallizing lately in my mind:

When shopping for an aircraft, you won't find a decent plane that fits your mission profile until you realise the mission profile no longer fits your needs.
