Nice post. Hope everyone has a good, safe, Christmas and upcoming New Year. :D

piperboy84 21st Dec 2014 14:54

Merry Xmas to all, known and unknown. Pilot DAR as Joe 90 had me laughing my ass off as that's exactly how I imagined him.

S-Works 21st Dec 2014 15:20

Blimey, where have the last 6 years gone?

I do miss my exchanges with IO.

Merry christmas.

taybird 21st Dec 2014 15:37

Hehe knowing the illustrious gentleman going by the name bose-x, that description did make me smile!
Seasons Greetings all.

PompeyPaul 25th Dec 2014 19:29

Wow

It made me smile to see this post. As I posted a while ago I'm taking a break from flying for a while, maybe a few years, whilst my son (2 in January) grows up a bit and the Cirrus come down in price.

Made me smile to still see this floating around.

Although, I am a frustrated author, and always fancied writing a book. I always thought the following post was far more entertaining and clever but maybe it only works to an English audience:

Jeremy Kyle does PPRune

Merry Christmas one and all. Happy flying, soft landings and I look forwarding to rejoining my flying brethren one day.

And one day, one day, I'll get around to writing that book. Until then, keep playing my video games please - they keep the food on the table :ok:

I've always thought that this thread transcended the basic day to day topics of PPRuNe, and instantly rose to a higher order. It is the one I remember over the years. I can remember where I was when I read it, and how pleasantly it "restarted" my day in a nice way.

Pompey Paul, I hope you find your way back into the sky before long....

Merry Christmas to all. I've never seen this thread; I didn't realise that an ex Harrier jock in a spotted cow was one of us! I have an excellent shot of him almost taking my bonce off at a certain golf course in Wales...

Having met some of you in reality it's always a pleasant surprise to have your expectations dashed. I remember the first time I met Ghengis, I was expecting some old sage with a long white beard to jump out of his a/c and was confronted instead by a fresh faced youth. Well, youth to me. People are never as you expect them.

Only just come accross this thread - really enjoyed reading Pompey Pauls descriptions - too funny!
Compliments of the season to one and all!:)

Pilot DAR 24th Dec 2015 11:24

One of the gifts of 2015 has been to meet a couple of new PPRuNe people, and reaquaint with a few I know. It's nice to appreciate a bit more human personality amongst the anonymity of the posts.

Pompey Paul, are closer to your Cirrus?

Merry Christmas PPRuNers.....

Pilot DAR 24th Dec 2017 21:41

Merry Christmas Pompey Paul, I know you're out there...

I'm not really Joe 90 any more, but more the Six Million Dollar Man, and life continues...

Best wishes for a great Christmas everyone!

CloudHound 24th Dec 2017 22:11

One thing worse than being written about on PPRUNE is not being written about on PPRUNE.

Note to self. Check start date of threads! I hadn't realised this was from the time when my life wasn't as WX dependant.

Season Felicitations, one and all.

Pilot DAR 24th Dec 2018 13:04

As I bump this now ten year old thread, I think of those posters who have moved on from PPRuNe, hopefully to continue a good life. I value the participation of the old timers, and the next generation of pilots. Perhaps if Pompey Paul is reading this, he'll grace us with an update of his character speculation. In the mean time, for those who wonder why I'm bumping this thread, do yourself an amusing favour, and go back and read the first post!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Curlytips 24th Dec 2018 18:35

Merry Xmas to everyone!

Indeed a great thread! Maybe us newer contributors should help by gIving clues about ourselves? For Curlytips, imagine a young Brad Pitt, but more intelligent.

(And just slightly prone to over-exaggeration).....

Have a great time, everyone.

Age right, beard right. But I don't really do water sports (OK I'm happy to help sail a yacht when I'm invited to, but that's about it).

I’m flying today so this is a very good likeness of me this morning. Curly Tips, Brad Pitt? Not even with my eyesight! Happy Xmas everyone, fly safe and a lot I’m 2019. SND
