RTFM Was this YOU....?
Just pooodling along at work this morning when noticed the balloon heading right for me and quite low. Really low in fact. I just had time to whip out the camera and take the picture below. Amazing sight to behold but I do think they may have been looking for somewhere to land rather than being in the brown-sticky stuff which is what I first thought when I seen them so low.
Nothing in the news today so all must have gone well.

Hehe no, not me but one of the big boys (rides operators) -- you can tell by the relative size of the basket (if the big banner on the side doesn't give it away. ) The landing approach for a balloon is not too different to a small plane -- its just much slower in a balloon So the balloon is low for landing a lot longer than fixed-wing.
And at the opposite end of the scale, here is RTFM, in a hopper

Wow, thats a brave man to go under that baloon..!!!!!!
Do you have the T-shirt that says "If you can read this, the bitch has fallen off....."
Makes sense now that he was so slow and low. Seems like he was doing touch and goes all over Sussex....

Cursed Ballons!
On Friday Night, I glanced over my shoulder to check on the approaching swarm of balloons creeping up on me from Northampton when a loud Thunk! drew my attention to the whirling propellor of the model aeroplane that I had just started up and to my thumb which had come into contact with it...
9 stitches later I am all the more convinced of the hazards of ballooning.
