Converting SA ppl to JAA ppl

Has naybody recently converted their SA ppl to a JAA ppl ? I currently have in excess of 100 hours and know what is required to convert the licence but was wondering if anybody has recently done this at an airfield in the south east ? What was the school like, how long did it take you and what was the total cost ?

I am looking at doing this in the near future and would welcome any feedback.

Thanks in advance.

Conversion

Hiya,

I too had an SA PPL, trained for it in 2000 revalidated 2001 and also added NR and complex conversion. Decided to convert to JAA this year before it expires at the end of the month. The BEST guy for the job is Irv Lee - who you may have heard of via the 'Flyer' magazine. He is fully qualified for SA - JAA PPL conversions or SA renewals (which is also another option). You can visit his homepage at http://www.higherplane.flyer.co.uk where you will also find his contact details. He's based at Popham, near Basingstoke. Rental prices and his instructional prices are extremely good and he really is an excellent instructor. If you want to email me to ask anything else please feel free to do so although I must warn you that I may not reply very quickly......I have just started the APP course at OAT so am going to have my hands full!!

All the best,

Stephen (theharrier)
