Greased Landing

Can anone tell me the origins of the term "Greased Landing"?

Isn't it where the landing is so gentle that the bend you put in the nosewheel oleo is minor enough that it can be made to work again with a bit of grease, as opposed to the normal sort of landing requiring a full strip down and replacement?
