Yak 52 life?
I hear rumours that the powers that be have slapped a low airframe life (1000/1500 hrs?) on Yak 52s, G- reg or not, meaning many are now effectively grounded. Any reliable info?

This is not going to be a very helpful posting, but I think the proverbial can of worms has been opened w.r.t Yak52 life. Some in depth independent homework needs to be done by all 52 operators.... I believe the CAA has done the same.

I am no expert so I would suggest Yak 52 owners contact their maintenance organisations for an accurate account.
It would appear that in response to the airframe life MPD put out by the CAA the maintenance companies are getting their heads together to draw up a Schedule to cover this matter. This is not complete yet.
It will PROBABLY require crack checks on various parts of the airframe at specified hourly intervals. These intervals are not agreed yet. Subject to satisfactory checks, or repairs the airframe should go on flying.
