Lane Farm 'Airpark' recommended
I took the yellow peril up to Lane Farm near Hay-on-Wye yesterday to go to the literary festival. Wanted to post here to say that Lane Farm is an excellent place and the owner, who is a very experienced gliding instructor, was exceedingly helpful, even running us into town when we couldn't get a taxi. He has B+B accommodation for visiting pilots and 800 m of E-W runway in stunning scenery at 830 feet amsl, jolly smooth too.
Don't miss it -- it would make a lovely day out or weekend for the missus. Very different to the £100 bacon buttie.
