Racine, WI USA - May 2003: DeltaHawk made aviation history today at John H. Batten Field in Racine, Wisconsin. A Velocity RG powered by DeltaHawk’s DH160V4 diesel engine lifted off for an initial flight. Flown by DeltaHawk Chief Engineer, Doug Doers, the aircraft orbited Batten Airport at speeds up to 140 knots and reached an altitude of 5500 feet. The engine is the only U.S. designed and developed reciprocating engine capable of burning Jet fuel that is known to be flying.
